Officer
An Officer is to be the quintessential representation of our guild's essence, inside and outside of the guild. More than the members of the guild, our behavior is a direct and lasting impression of the people that make up Quintessential. All Officers are held to the Officer Code of Conduct.
Roles / Responsibilities:
The Officers have many responsibilities that have been separated into specific roles. Each Officer is responsible to be able to perform each role. However, certain roles are assigned to specific officers as their primary duty focus.
- Bank Management
- Web site Administration
- Ventrilo Administration
- Policy / Decision Making
- Community Organizing
- Rule Enforcement
- Treasury
- Inter-Guild Diplomacy
Issue Resolution:
- All Quintessential guild members are expected to deal with any issues directly and responsibly with those immediately involved.
- A next step of escilation is to bring in an Expert or Leader, or maybe even an Officer.
- If all the above steps fail, Officers are responsible to bring issues to a Council Session...
Council Session:
- A Council Session may be called by any officer. (He/She is expected to schedule, facilitate, and lead the session)
- The calling officer is expected to prepare and present an agenda prior to the session.
- The attendee list is to be suggested by the calling officer, however the GM may over-rule the attendee choices based upon the issues involved.
- A Quintessential Council will always be made up of no less than (3) three, and no more than (5) five officers. And the GM must always be included.
- Council Sessions are called only when needed, and will have a specific agenda.
- Issues to be considered should be fully researched and ready for formal presentation.
- The Officer calling for the council must provide to the attendees the issues and background information prior to the scheduled council in order that they may become familiar with the issue.
- The attendees of the Council Session are responsible to deliver a speedy decision within 48 hours or sooner.
How to become an Officer:
- Be an exemplairy contributing member. Group with guildies. Help folks
out. Be a leader in groups. Chat in guild
chat.
- Earn the guilds respect.
- Be an accomplished Expert or Leader.
-
Quintin can promote someone to
officer, but only does so when there is a vacancy and with the majority of the existing officers'
agreement.
Quintessential's leadership community structure currently has:
One (1) Guild Master (exact same authority and responsibility as any
Officer)
One (1) titular Queen (Rank is in title only, no authority or
responsibility)
and Six (6) officer positions. (Each having the authority and
responsibility detailed above)
Becoming an officer requires an officer position to become available.
